Eitan BabcockCongratulations to Eitan Babcock, a member of the Milwaukee Rugby Football Club, for his selection to the 2015 Pan American Maccabi Games, which will be held from December 26, 2015 – January 5, 2016 in Santiago, Chile.
Babcock is one of 27 players selected to the team, according to the announcement from USA Rugby.
“It’s taken us a lot longer to announce our team with well over 50 players applying for this amazing opportunity to combine their love for rugby with their Jewish heritage,” explained Aaron Davis, the Head Coach of Maccabi USA’s Open Men’s rugby team.
“And without an official try out we had to do a lot of research before selecting the 27-man team.”
The USA Macabbi rugby team is sponsored by Maccabi USA which supports Jewish athletic endeavors, enhanced by cultural and educational activities in the United States, Israel and throughout the Diaspora.
“Players will play plenty of minutes in a short space of time – which is exactly what will be expected of the squad that represents Team USA at the 2017 World Maccabiah Games in Israel,” added Dallen Stanford, the Assistant Coach of Maccabi USA’s Open Men’s rugby team and a former USA 7s Eagle.

PLAYOFFS!

Milwaukee Rugby Football Club, with help from the Wisconsin Club's win over Lincoln Park, will be playing in the Midwest Western League playoffs to fight for spot in the Midwest Elite Eight next spring. Games take place November 5th and 6th in Cottage Grove, WI with a first round match-up against Des Moines. The winner advances to play the loser of a 2nd place seeding game with that winner taking the #4 seed for the Midwest Western League and advancing to the round of 8 in the spring season. More information on standings and seeding can be found here.

2 teams from the Midwest qualify for the D2 National Championships and a string of 5 playoff wins would see Milwaukee return to the national venue! Best of luck to the team this weekend!
